These painted Indian guns have long been thought to be the product of diiferent  Warrior Societies.  As far back as 1988 John duMont addressed these painted Indian Guns in his great work Custer Battle Guns. This pistol which shows obvious signs of Indian use still retains most of it's Black paint on the stock. The lock and trigger guard was originally painted Yellow and still retains some in the recess'.  It still has half and full cock with a strong spring and functions as it should.  The forestock still has remnants of old varnished thread which was used to hold the forestock in place. A really neat looking Indian pistol.
