1848 Colt Baby Dragoon
1848 Colt Baby Dragoon
This Colt Baby Dragoon is in very good condition with almost all of it's original cylinder scene still visible.  The cylinder scene is of the Stagecoach Holdup and still has oval stops . This variation is the hardest one to find as Colt only made a couple of hundred of the Holdup scene with oval stops. The 4' barrel has the correct 2 line New York City address.  The pistol has a pleasing blue-brown patina with sharp markings and edges. The serial numbers match with exception of the wedge which is a correct baby dragoon wedge but a few numbers off.  The grips are also in very good shape and are original to the pistol. The backstrap retains about 50% of it's original silver plating with the trigger guard retaining about 80%. The action is smooth and locks up tight.  An attractive and very hard to find variation of a Colt Baby Dragoon.
