An old cowboy pistol with a lot of eye appeal.  It's in the desirable caliber of .44-40 . The most sought after of these .44-40's are the early ones that exhibit the Etched Panel logo "Colt Frontier Six Shooter" such as this gun.  The panel is still visible although very difficult for me to photograph. You'll need to click on the (Enlarge ) button to view. All the serial numbers match (79626) and indicate a manufacture date of 1882. The one piece dealer installed pearl grips are absolutely beautiful with a wonderful aged patina.  The action is smooth and crisp. This pistol has been well taken care and has a great bore. There's still 5-10% of the original factory blue in the protected areas. A really top notch pistol.
