Rev.War British Officer's Fusil
Rev.War British Officer's Fusil

This was a fairly expensive fusil in it's day and has many advanced features such as a roller frizen spring , patented breech and wedges rather than pin barrel attachment to the stock. The 38 1/2" three stage .75 cal. swamped barrel has two British proofs and has Richard Wilson's  *R W at the breech.  It has a silver tear drop front sight and a raised rear sight on the tang. The ramrod pipes, trigger guard and buttplate are steel.  There's no name on the lock plate and it doesn't appear that there ever was. The sidplate and wrist escutheon are silver. The stock exhibits some very tasteful carving with a shell motif around the breech tang and tear drop design at the rear of the lock and sideplate. It still retains it's original ramrod.
