This rare pistol is in very good to fine condition.  It was issued to the 41st Regt.of Foot and is so engraved on the top of the barrel B + 41 . Also, early British proof marks and the barrel markers initials WG (William Grice). His initals are also present on the sideplate flat. The storekeepers proof is still visible between the lockplate and the tang beaver tail carving. The date appears to be 1780 but may be 1786. The lock functions properly on both half and full cock. The pistol retains it's original ramrod. This is one of the nicest Light Dragoon pistols I've seen in a long time . It comes with the bonus of having been involved in some great history in both the French Revolution and the War of 1812. I've put together a pretty extensive file on the 41st Regt. that will come with the pistol.  Tecumseh  was with them when he was killed at the Battle of the Thames.
