A very attractive sword made by Wooley, Deakin & Co. of Birmingham for the American market. This logo was used by them from 1800-1803 so it’s rather easy to date this sword. The Silver pillow pommel is multi-faceted and the knuckle-bow exhibits the 5 ball design. The 32″ blade is single edged and fluted it’s full length. It retains most of it’s original blue finish and gold etched  military motifs to include a Panoply of Arms, United States in a ribbon with the American Eagle in the middle and a Indian with a Quiver, Bow and Arrows. The obverse side has American Infantry in a ribbon.  The multi-fluted ivory grip has taken on a beautiful golden patina.  A really outstanding sword from our early Federalist period.
