These pistols were very popular in the California Gold Rush and this one was mfg.'d in 1849. It's serial # 9338 is matching throughout. The pistol has the early feature of the steep angle to the grip which retain about 50% of their original factory varnish finish. The cyl. scene is about 40% visible . The backstrap retains about 95% of it's factory silver finish with the trigger gd. retaining about 60%. Overall the pistol has taken on a nice even blue-brown patina. These early long barrel Baby Dragoons really have the look and feel of Pocket Patersons .
