This  Spencer carbine is in exceptional condition.  It obviously was issued out and exhihibits some minor bumps and dings as you would expect on any gov’t. issued arm.  However it still retains almost all of it’s original barrel blue finish with generous amounts of it’s original case colors on the receiver, lock and butt plate. The .50 cal. barrel has the 6 goove rifling with a beautiful shiney bore.  The stock has two very good cartouches and on the comb is stamped “L Troop 1st Cavalry “. The Indian Wars really heated up after the Civil War and the 1st Cav. was there from the begining . Their exploits reads like a who’s who of the Western  campaigns . They were involved in campaigns in Arizona, California, Oregon, Washington Terr., Idaho, and Nevada . This carbine has it all both history and condition.
