A really beautiful example of  a  Frederick Sell  rifle from the Golden Age of Kentucky rifle making. It exhibits his unique  style of raised carving along with his very fine engraving on the brass. The barrel is 47" and of .44 cal.  The rifle has had some professional restoration  on the last 15" of forestock which blends perfectly. Also, the lock has been professionally reconverted to it's original Flint .   Frederick Sell  worked in Littlestown, Pa. from 1807  til his death in 1861 . His rifles are highly sought after by collectors today.
