The Halbert Pipe Tomahawk was a popular sidearm with American Riflemen during the Revolutionary War. This great Hawk was originally part of Jim Dresslar's collection. I purchased it from Jim a little over 15 years ago. Overall length is 14 1/4" with a 5 1/8" x 3 7/8" steel head .The haft is made of sheet iron wrapped around and brazed. It was painted red , in it's period of use, in a striped fashion in order to simulate wood.  It's missing it's original mouthpiece. The pipe bowl can be unscrewed and removed. A very rare item. Many an advanced Tomahawk collection is lacking a Halbert Pipe Tomahawk.
