I’ve had this historic gun in my personal collection for well over 20 years. It came on the market in 1998 and was part of the estate of deceased special forces officer Lt. Grant Clayton who moved from  Texas to Southern Pines, S.C.  The gun was manufactured in 1911 and is in good working order. I’ve got a pretty thick file on Capt. Hughes which will come with the gun. It’s been suggested that Texas Ranger Capt, Hughes was the inspiration for the Lone Ranger character since Zane Grey dedicated  “The Lone Star Ranger  ” to Capt. Hughes in 1915.
