1759 Lt. Dragoon Pistol
1759 Lt. Dragoon Pistol

This pistol is not only good looking but also extremely rare. I know of a few 17th Dragoon muskets but to my knowledge this is the only 17th Dragoon identified pistol known. The pistol is in very fine shape with clear and crisp markings and all original wood. The action works just fine. The lock has the Crown over GR with a broad arrow and is signed Vernon 1760. The top of the 9" .65 cal. barrel exhibits  2 early British proofs with a clear 17 DRAG for 17th Dragoons.  The 17th Dragoons arrived in Boston in 1775 and fought here in America throughout the War until they were interned at the Battle of Yorktown in 1781. They were led by Col.Tarleton and were one of the main subjects in Mel Gibson's movie " The Patriot ".   A chance to own one of the rarest Revolutionary War pistols on the market today.
