This carbine is totally untouched and exhibits typical Indian use. It retains many iron tack designs which all have wonderful halo's surrounding them. The right buttstock has an old tag that has become part of the stock and the typed letters are quite faded from age. It states the following " Custer Battlefield Gun – This Gun was found near Little Big Horn Creek after the Battle-Decorated with Tacks Donated By Earl Monroe Estate- Mus/in/76/ 11-34 ". The Mus/76/11-34 is the museum inventory number and the date when it was donated Nov/1934.  The right side of the buttstock shows evidence of having layed in a stream.  I've had this neat gun in my personal collection for a dozen years.
