A really beautiful Powder Horn carried by a American Patriot Abiathar Minard in both the French & Indian War and the Rev. War . The dimensions are 13" O/A with a 3" domed wooden plug at it's base which is held in place by wooden dowels . The raised scalloped carving area on the neck is a little over 4". This is a very well made horn. According to the inscription, the horn was made at Fort Edwards in 1758 while he was participating in the New York campaign. The interior of the horn was shaved in order to make it translucent. Please refer to the cover sheet for the interesting history on Abiathar Minard .
